Cutting Board Made from Echizen Paulownia Wood Small

This cutting board is crafted from high-quality paulownia wood sourced from Fukui Prefecture, known for its traditional craft of making Echizen chest of drawers dating back to the Edo period. The wood is naturally dried in the sun for 2 to 3 years, resulting in minimal warping and a moderately soft texture that allows for effortless cutting and preserves the sharpness of knife blades.

Cutting boards are often associated with the impression of being damp and difficult to dry, but this cutting board is different. The paulownia wood does not absorb water easily, so it dries surprisingly quickly.

Paulownia wood contains ingredients called ``sesamin'' and ``paulonin'' that have antibacterial, antiseptic, and insecticidal effects, and when combined with its ability to dry easily, it creates an environment in which it is difficult for bacteria to grow. It is also very light and easy to handle, making it a cutting board that is easy to take out, wash, and clean up.

The Paulownia wooden box, made from one of the world's most valuable sustainably harvested trees, adds an extra touch of elegance. This lightweight yet strong box exemplifies the tree's renowned quality and sustainability.
