I enjoyed a similar unwrapping experience as described by Richard in his comment. That thoughtfulness, care, and attentional to detail added significantly to my shopping experience. Now, to the knife. Remarkably sharp and beautifully made. I couldn't feel more pleased with my purchase.
I'm not sure what I love the most--the products or the store and people. The knives are absolutely stunning in every way. Exactly as pictured and described. But what I really loved was the personalized service! The knives had the cutest note included with them. Handwritten and personal. And the band aid was a great touch! Can't wait to order again!
Tojiro shines bright for both young and adult chefs alike! Originally purchased for my 4 year old but functionally useful enough to be preferred by one of the adult chef's around. the non sharp rounded tip and heel combined with the sturdy profile and well designed grip are what sold me. Comes very sharp and is not a 'play' knife which is good in my book as it helps to teach the safety aspect of knives as soon as someone first starts handling them. 5/5 will probably purchase another
Fantastic quality knife and wonderful customer service. Very friendly to work with. Order arrived on time and in perfect condition. I would not hesitate to purchase additional knives.
Other than USPS being slow like usual this knife was a great purchase. Wanting to get into cooking and loving knifes and japanese culture this was the perfect knife for me. Would have liked the japanese handle a little more, but this knife is still a beautiful work of art. Will eventually buy a petty and/or nakiri from this company as well.
Let me see…how to describe this knife. Design similar to some found in German cutlery sets, made by a Japanese knife company, using Swedish steel. IMHO, that is a great combination. Razor sharp right out of the box. Excellent for small work. I will get the 150mm when they are back in stock. Note the only point still outstanding is I have not used enough to fully assess the edge retention. At this point I have no concerns that it won’t be as good as other common quality stainless steels used for kitchen cutlery.
Out of the box I preped potatoes to boil. That knife feels like it knows what you want and the slice just happens. I WISH I had the knive when I worked in a kitchen.
