Go Japan !

I ordered the Sakai Takayuki Gyuto Japanese Chef Knife 210mm (8.3") as my first knife from Hasu. I love the humble quality of a simple, lightweight wood handle coupled with beautiful metal craftsmanship. I've used this knife for about a year, which brings me joy every time I touch it. I've recently purchased two knives: a short pairing knife and a Sakai Takayuki Gyuto 180mm. I'm pleased with both. I also wanted to thank you for the personalized handwritten note of gratitude from Midori and the care taken in wrapping and boxing the knives. To me, this shows respect for your craftsman and indicates that you value the connection between the maker and the owner—me—something lost or that doesn't exist throughout the consumer industry in America. Please extend my warmest wishes to the Hasu Seizo team!

Good with an issue

Knife is nice, all parts are good. The only issue is the back end of the cutting edge, that needs to be rounded, otherwise you will hurt yourself, which I already did. The back end of the cutting edge is sharp like a needle and that should not be like that.

What a wonderful, quality and well made knife

This paring knife is SHARP. Everything you want and need in a paring knife. It’s lightweight and well balanced, feels good in your hand, and did I mention It’s Sharp.
As with all their knives, it comes with a band-aid. Beautiful to look at too, the polished Damascus blade is gorgeous and the wooden handle is well made and just fits! You can’t go wrong purchase this paring knife (or other knives) from Midori at Hasu Seizo!
