Higonokami Damascus Aoniko (Blue Steel #2) Tiger and Bamboo Black Handle Folding Pocket Knife

The Aoniko Higonokami folding pocket knife is a testament to one of Japan's oldest and most enduring blade styles, still in production today. Its design and forging technique closely mirror those of traditional Japanese swords, enabling the blade to attain a razor-sharp edge. The origins of this iconic design date back to around 1894, when the company pioneered a structure allowing the blade and handle to fold together seamlessly. To enhance portability, they incorporated a "chikiri" (tail). Today, Nagao Kanekoma Seisakusho remains the only company authorized to use the "Higonokami" trademark, preserving its rich heritage.

This knife boasts a Damascus blade crafted from Aoniko (Blue Steel #2), celebrated for its remarkable sharpness and durability. The Damascus steel's intricate pattern not only enhances its visual appeal but also contributes to the blade's strength and cutting performance. The handle features an elegant tiger and bamboo design, symbols of strength and resilience in Japanese culture. This blend of traditional craftsmanship and cultural significance makes the Higonokami Damascus Aoniko folding pocket knife a prized possession for collectors and knife enthusiasts alike.
